Mamoun's on Friday

Just a tad disappointing, discovered yellow stickers on Mamoun's closed doors at lunchtime today...reminded me of "DiFara fever" many moons ago.

This won't last.

Looking at their report it seems that they have a lot to take care of in order to re-open. Hopefully, they will do all that's needed and open up soon.

      2. still won't hesitate to have the falafel or anything else for that matter

        1. go to Taim instead for a better Falafel, a bit more $$, but worth it. Or Yatagan Falafel House down the street is equal to Mamouns and with better Shwarma.

No One's Falafal is better than Mamoun's... Are you nuts? : )

go to Taim, I promise it is better. They have three kinds, Green (parsley and cilantro), Red (Roasted Red Pepper) and Harissa (Spicy). Everything is fresh and made on the spot.

Mamoun's falafel is actually pretty mediocre. It's only redeeming quality is its price. I agree that Taim is much better.

I really like Mamoun's hot sauce. Are there any places that have something similar. It reminds me more of a harissa taste, rather then a vinagery hot sauce that most places serve.

Agreed on the falafel suggestion. But are you comparing Mamoun's shawarma to Yatagan's doner kabab? Does Yatagan offer shawarma? Mamoun's shawarma is the only thing I really like there.

                1. re: E Eto

Just saying Yatagan has a great shawarma sandwich that's all.

                  1. re: ginsbera

But do they make shawarma? Or are you talking about the sandwich made from the shaved meat from the big spit? Then we're talking about a doner kabab. Not a shawarma. That's all I'm saying.

                    1. re: E Eto

you're correct, sorry. It is the doner kebab, not the shawarma I'm speaking of. I should jog my memory by heading over there for one.
