I could have sworn I had a really good one at Apple Pan. I think I'm right.

You won't find a slice of bacon or a slice of tomato at The Apple Pan.

the closet thing to a blt at apple pan, would be the slice ham and lettuce on white bread or wheat.

I'm partial to the BLT at Pete's in Downtown L.A. on 4th and Main. The chipotle mayo makes a big difference, and the bread alone is worth the price of admission.

The Peach Café has a good up-town version they call the “BLTA” which includes avocado and their pesto sauce. Check out the link below and see the coffee menu also.
The best old-school BLT I can think of is at Moffett’s. The bread seems to be just right for a BLT.
I have never had a BLT at The Pines but I have had their bacon on a burger and in a breakfast burrito. I cannot get that bacon off my mind because the flavor, thickness, size, and texture are simply perfect. This bacon would make a great Down-Home style BLT. I am not sure if BLT is on their menu but they are the kind of place that does everything they can to make you happy. If you head out toward that direction (Palmdale) you must stop there. In the saying, "Bacon Rules," ... well, this is the bacon that rules.

Edit, Lucky Boy in Pasadena does not have bacon. I am not sure what those large hand fulls of stuff without flavor is but it is not bacon as we know it.

Oh, one more.... Auntie Em’s Kitchen has a good Up-Town version. I had one when I went for lunch once. It is called the “B.L.A.S.T. Applewood Smoked Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato, Avocado, Sprouts & Mayo on a Rosemary Roll”. A good finish would be the Whoopie Pie or Red Velvet.

I had an amazing BLT at Le Pain Quotidien on Doheny in BH. Nice to sit outside. Bread good (toasted), thick bacon, ripe tomatoes...a pleasant surprise!

The best BLT ever is at 410 Boyd downtown. It has brie and avocado and high-quality bacon. It is gooey and over the top. Their fries are pretty ruling too.

Hustler Casino at 1000 W Redondo Beach Blvd in Gardena has an unbelievably delicious BLT - terrific sour dough bread; mayo pasted right to the edges of the crust just like Mme Zoe's Aunt Tootsie used to do; applewood bacon crisp but not brittle, juicy tomatoes and crunchy lettuce leaves - whole leaf not chopped. BLT Nirvana.

I'm partial to the BLT at Europane. They only make a certain amount each day, so order early in the day before they run out. But I usually pick their egg salad instead. Both are great.

The best BLT? Hands down...John O'Groats on Pico just west of Beverly Glen.
Great bacon, crispy, thick, and flavorful, a real tomato, even in March. It is a very satisfying meal.

Madame Matiese on Sunset near the Sunset Junction has an amazing BBLT. The second B is a huge slab of brie and makes the sandwich that much better. It's pretty cheap, too...around $8.95, I believe.

Kokomo's which used to be in the Farmer's Market. Has it already moved to its new location?

I also like Kokomo's blt. The place has just relocated to the NE corner of Martel and Beverly Blvd -- a few blocks east of its old home.
And I like the "PBT" - a blt spinoff - at La Bottega: pancetta, burrata, heirloom tomato, arugula, and simple white toast. Sounds very similar to the sandwich mentioned by SGV Gal above -- and it was featured on the cover of Bon Appetit last summer when it was available. It will likely be back this summer.

The best "Fast Food" BLT is Arby's.
It is surprisingly good. $6. The bread is GREAT! Lots of tasty Bacon and well, tomato is tomato. Only downside it the lettuce is not iceberg.
