kbbq: searching for the perfect trifecta +1
1. Quality meat
2. Rice paper
3. Sugary soy saucey vinegary dipping sauce with jalapenos and garlic
4. A half decent grill
Does such a combination exist?
ma dang sae on james wood/vermont used to deliver, until they switched up their grills to that god forsaken infrared grill that doesn't grill evenly.
there's a kbbq place across from el cholo that has 3/4, but it's AYCE so the meat isn't uber.
park's/chosun galbi don't have rice paper and possibly the dipping sauce.
Anybody have a suggestion?
I'm actually NOT looking for AYCE

Gui Rim on 6th and Western is really good. They have the meat, rice paper, soy sauce with the jalapenos and garlic, and they also have the charcoal grills.

Hanyang BBQ on 8th & Harvard is pretty good. It is not AYCE, but they have combo deals and pass all of your qualifications.

edited, I'm actually not looking for AYCE :) I have realized how detrimental it is for my waistline

I think Tahoe Galbi on Wilshire and Wilton ought to cover all that

Have you tried Shik Do Rak? It's been awhile since I've been but I believe they have what you're looking for. The grill was NOT charcoal but I seem to remember it being gas fuelled.

I've been there but it's been 3-4 years. I found it fairly unremarkable, which probably explains why I can't remember anything about that place.

I would suggest the following: hwaro on 6th in the chapman plaza. Honey pig on 8th (b/w kingsley and hobart i think). And beul dae po on 6th and ardmore (although last time i went, it wasn't as good as before.)

I suggest Sae Byuk Jip in Chapman Plaza (6th & kenmore). I go there often and it totally fits all of the above combinations and it is not AYCE. They do have combos, so you can still get a great deal. I am very fond of their ssangyup ssal (the pork strip) it comes with kimchee layered on top!!
