I hadn't noticed myself, but I wouldn't be surprised. After a busy opening, their business had clearly dropped way off. I'd walk down that block of restaurants on Brighton Ave at dinnertime and Le's and Carlo's and Shabu Shabu Toki and Rangoli and Buk Kyung II and Punjab Palace would all be hopping and then I'd look in the windows at New Trend and they'd have, like, one or two tables occupied.

Hadn't they recently changed ownership, too? I think I read that somewhere, but don't remember where.

I believe they did, gut tells me that they changed about a year or two ago, but I'm not sure...

You may be thinking of someplace else - New Trend Eatery only opened just under a year ago.
I was browsing the Mayor's Food Court (restaurant health inspections) and noticed what looks like pre-opening inspections this past Friday at the same address (101 Brighton Avenue) for something called "Jo Jo Taiwan."
