Blue Barn Gourmet - I'm in Love
There is a new take out place in The Marina called Blue Barn Gourmet. I've gotten dinner from there nearly every other night since I discovered it. They make salads and sandwiches. It is not particularly expensive, the food is insanely good, and the portions are reasonable given the prices and quality of ingredients. For example, tonight I got a salad with endive, radicchio, chickory and some other field greens, red oinions, scallion, nicoise olives, pine nuts, garlic crutons, feta and grilled-to-order perfect medium-rare (perfectly marinated and seasoned) skirt steak for $13 and it was large enough to be a dinner.
So, just thought I'd let y'all know.

So, where is this place?

Thanks for the tip. I read that most of the produce is from Oak Hill Farm

Yeah, chipman it is on Chestnut between Steiner and Pierce (but closer to Steiner) on the south side of the street right next to California Wine Merchants / California Wine Star wine bar.

I really liked the sandwich I had hear recently too. Initially I thought the tiny place was a little tooo precious, but once I bit into the sandwich I was converted. It was a regular grilled chicken sandwich, but it had bacon and avocado and cheese and an aioli and all the different tastes mixing together was so sublime.
Here are photos from my trip there: http://singleguychef.blogspot.com/200...
