Yesterday, on the way to the Y, I noticed a $5 martini and complementary appetizer special at Faz on Steuert Street. Just a short walk from Fuzio.

Just had another very good lunch at Paladar Cafe Cubano. They now advertise a Cuban tapas happy hour on Thursdays and Fridays. We though the plantains and fried yucca were exceptionally good today (and I was not enamored with their plantains last time I visited).

how about bix - they used to do lovely happy hour nibbles - not cheap but not extortionate either....

i googled around a bit to see if there were any deatail on the BIX HH but
didnt notice anything obvious. anybody know some details off the top of
their head? days of the week/approx hrs? drink specials? food options?
of the "nicer" happy hrs i like two, although it ends early and you may need
to pump the meters a few time and it's hard to get continguous seating for
a larger group.
thumbs down for maya HH from me.
how is macarthur park HH these days?

I believe the SF MacArthur Park has closed.

Did Paladar get its beer and wine license? Are they staying open past 3pm?

They offered us beer or wine at lunch and made a big point of it (in a nice way). Their happy hour is 3-7 pm Thursday & Friday I think. Not sure if the full menu is available then or just a tapas menu.

Thanks for all the info, I checked out Palador, it only has tapas on Thurs and Fridays and only open for lunch Mon thru Wed. Alittle to pricy for what you got.

Two has $2 (very) small bar bites from 4-6 and the menu changes daily. I didn't care for the liverwurst on brown bread, but the two tiny crab cakes were tasty. They do not have alot of choices for appetizers on their happy hour menu, but the best deal is the 300 ml house wine for $5. I could barely ride my bike home after that. It's not advertised, but instead of a glass of house wine for the same price you can get 2 1/2 glasses. But, who's counting.
Maya's happy hour is okay, you get a tiered platter of free appetizers, 8 chips w black bean dip and one tiny tamale, one quesadilla and the fruit muddled Mojitos are $5, but I was still hungry.

Enrico's has a happy hour on Mon-Wed if you don't mind the trek to North Beach...I believe it's $3 draft beer and well drinks, $7 pizzas and a few appetizers for $3 or so.

Sandwiches & small plates from $1.50-3.00
Select house cocktails are only $5. Get there early, as the bar is tiny!

I really do not like Maya the food is horrible, I think it could be the same type of food as a Chevys and I would think Chevys would be less money.

i havnt had a full meal there, but when it comes to the free happy hour
snacks, i think they are close to a zero. and if you factor in the calorie hit,
not worth eating. and exciting HH liquid offerings dont make up for the
lacking solids.
given the proximity of TWO, no reason to go to Maya at all in my book.
ok tnx.

Just went to Palomino's with some co-workers last week, great happy hour food, but the service was the worse we've ever encountered. $5 pizzas and $5 drinks (eg. mojitos)
before 6 p.m., but we tried getting the waitress attention for 1/2 an hour to order and
waited another 1/2 hour for her to come back to let us know that they couldn't make a Ramos Fizz. AND, another 40 minutes before we were served. Do not order the fried calamari either - Fuzio's is better and cheaper for the price.
