Spanikopita / spinach pie
I'm looking for excellent spanikopita/spinach pie at a sit-down restaurant in Manhattan. The best spanikopita I've had in NY is from Poseidon Greek Bakery on 9th Ave @ 44th -- delicious, but take-out only. Any actual restaurant suggestions? Ideally I could also get a side of tabouleh to go with it.

Ruben's Empanadas do tasty ones with rice and beans on the side. I don't know about Tabouleh though... And it is kinda take-out-y I guess but I've had many a wholesome hangover cured on its vinyl tabletops.

Ethos, on 3rd Av., b/t 33rd & 34th Sts., has spanakopita on the mezzes menu. Delicious! Lots of other excellent hot and cold mezzes. (No tabbouleh since it's a Lebanese dish rather than Greek.)

I thought Avra's spanakopita was quite good--that was 2 years ago so I'm not sure if anything has changed

avra, ammos, kelari all have greek mezedakia (appetizers). Toubeleh will be harder since, as another poster mentioned, its not a greek dish....

Bereket and Country Kebab have pretty good tabouleh. That said, they have limited seating and are more suitable for lunch (not much ambience or atmosphere).

Thanks all for the suggestions - and I hereby drop the tabouleh idea, would rather get a really good spanikopita at an authentic Greek place.

Don't know if Pylos (Greek) in the EV has spanikopita, but we had another great dinner there Saturday night. Their menu is probably on menupages.com
