Pinkberry Long Beach

Pinkberry Long Beach is open downtown-the store is pretty big compared to others I've been to, and it was packed tonight. Another one is going to open on second street soon, so hopefully it'll be big too otherwise it's gonna be a pain for parking at the one downtown! Does anyone know the opening date for the second street (belmont shore) pinkberry?

  1. Drove by it on Sunday and I would say it is going to be a couple of weeks before it opens. Pinkberry always looks closed to me though so don't take it as the word. Parking on second street is a joke though so I doubt it will help alleviate any crowds at the downtown one.

Parking on 2nd Street isn't ideal, but it isn't horrible, either. As long as you're willing to walk for a few blocks, it should be okay. There are the local metered lots, and you can usually find a spot in the residential neighborhoods.

So my wife and I went last night to see what all the fuss was about. Didn't really like the green tea, but loved the original flavor. Some tough pieces in my mango toppings, but they were good and soft for the most part.

As for the location, parking around there in Downtown is not great, but we got a place on Broadway a bit down the block...made the mistake of walking along the loft construction site, putting us in the street, at first--made sure to go the extra way and cross the street on the way back! The store itself was pretty busy for a Monday night at 8:30pm, lots of hipster looking couples, and a family all sitting down inside. A couple of people with dogs with them outside--clearly the downtown location is not going to be busy only during the day. I have a feeling that the Belmont Shore store is going to be packed all the time.

Smart prediction, Evan. Indeed, the Belmont Shore Pinkberry usually has a huge line snaking out the door. Yeah, it's tasty stuff but not *that* tasty. I still prefer Golden Spoon, and even better yet, the cheap and widely available fat free & (nearly) sugar free Fudgesickles. They're only 40 calories a piece, and just 50 cents each.

I also tried Pinkberry's recently. Agree with you that it's ok. I liked the green tea, but feel it is so not worth the price. I'd much rather go east a bit more and grab some gelato at Aroma.

    2. There is free parking for the downtown PB in the lot next door (right past Pinkberry)- They validate for 2 free hours

For their prices, I would hope so...
