Austin

Texicalli Grill

What's the deal with this place? I've been there twice now...and it's fine but shockingly expensive. I swear a burger is like $12. My wife and I got 2 sandwiches (which are pretty small), split the queso fries, and two sodas and the bill was $30. I don't understand how they keep customers coming back at the prices.

  1. Heh. Someone has to support the Mayor of South Austin. I've been going there for years. And yes it's expensive for what it is, and the food is good not great (the strawberry malt is pretty damn good though), but it's an old Taco Bell and has lots of South Austin hippie stuff in it. It gets a pass from me, but I wouldn't have ever thought it would be on Chowhounds.
