9. People confuse Koryo Charcoal BBQ with Koryo Sushi right next door in the same mini mall. Koryo Sushi is small, cozy, and is open until 2 am or later almost every day.

         Don't know what time Koryo Wooden Charcoal BBQ closes (according to OP's list, midnight), but the nice folks at Koryo Sushi told me they are the only ones open that late, quite busy at that hour, it sounds like. I've heard bad things about Koryo BBQ's food anyway.... but Koryo Sushi would be definitely worth checking out at that hour. Can someone stay up late and report back?

            I've only heard good things about Koryo, and it's general reputation has long been "best Korean restaurant in the Bay Area." Others swear by Brothers in S.F. There are likely many other restaurants vying for that reputation. It really comes down to preference when selecting "the best" of anything, but it's hard to imagine anyone who likes/ knows Korean food not ranking Koryo near the top.

            Koryo Sushi is open until at least 2 or 3 am. I've had many a late-night meal there. It's really good, and one of my favorite East Bay sushi places, but as it's Korean-run, don't expect super-traditional Japanese sushi.

               In a recent thread, Oghane beat Koryo hands down. I think Koryo's good, and I enjoy the atmosphere, but I doubt anyone would say the food's better than Shan Maru or Oghane. And there's a litany of other east bay korean - really, go find the post.

          Tacos and burritos, open until 3 am, but they often stop serving early so that they actually close at 3 am
          4th and San Carlos,
          next to Jack in the Box which is 24/7
          around the corner from Iguanas Taqueria which is also open late

          Pho Tau Bay
          closes at midnight
          other side of 280 at 10th St and Keyes

       Sahn Maru now closes at 10pm on Sundays. People kept coming up and banging on the door. On the way out I brought it to their attention that the sign still said 11.

       Korean Kitchen at the end of the block is open till midnight or later.

       Had a late night snack at Maritime East with my fiance after watching "Sex in the City". Didn't order a Cosmo :), but my favorite Stormy Sunset was $5. Shared a perfectly cooked, medium rare burger and some good-sized oysters. For late night in the Albany-Berkeley area, this place is a great alternative to Fonda or A Cote. We just go to Fonda too often. IMO, what we had at Maritime is as good as other late night places but more economical.

          Beretta, on 22nd and Valencia, is open until midnight every day
