Black and white cookies in SF?

I've googled and searched the archives for information about black and white cookies in the area, but the only thing I came up with was a post from Ruth about the Grand Bakery in Oakland. I'll definitely give them a call, but has anyone seen Black and White cookies in SF? I've only seen them at the Eastcoast West Deli on Polk Street, but they weren't what i was looking for. Black and White cookies in NYC tend to be quite soft, almost like flat cakes. In California I've only found Black & Whites made from shortbread or something very similar. Any leads would be appreciated.

  1. I think that House of Bagels on Geary makes black & whites -- I assume you mean the cake-like large iced cookies.

Thanks for the lead. I got one there this morning, and it was just what i was looking for. i ate it while i waited for my bagel to be toasted, and then bought another one for later today. :) if they had been slightly more moist i'd be in heaven, but they're probably not selling dozens of them and don't make them each day. i can live with it though!

      thanks again.
