Before the "economic downturn" I always visited your fair city with full pockets. Not so any more...
Would you please share some favorite inexpensive "chow-worthy" destinations?
I stay in the East Village (around 2nd at E 11th,) enjoy ethnic foods and always have at least a few meals in Chinatown. My last dim sum experience was at Ping's (so-so) and I'd be glad for an alternative suggestion. Tried the Bahn Mi at the place on Lafayette (loved the meatball sandwich.) I would welcome some Latin suggestions as I certainly have only grazed the tip of the iceberg of those offerings.
"Joints" are fun and anything that will keep us indoors (the forecast isn't looking so good) earns bonus points.
