In the past two weeks we've eaten at both Winterland (last night) and Coco500. These may be the best two new restaurants to have opened in the city in a long time.

Dinner last night was outstanding. I had the Rabbit Escabeche & Snails
Parsley “calasparra” rice, sweet garlic puree as a first course and my wife had the heirloom tomato salad with fresh mozzarella. Both were wonderful. I had a soft shell crab entree and she had the veal chop, a big hunk of veal, frenched bone, none left when she finished as was my crab, clean plate.

They have an neat offering there, a number of wines by the carafe. We had a Bell Claret, $10/glass or $18 for the carafe which was about a glass and a half each.

It was empty when we arrived for our 6:30 reservation but almost full by the time we left a little after 8. They have a separate bar menu although last night the bar wasn't that busy early.
