I've been hearing lots of raves about food at Anise, and I'd love to try it when we come to Montreal next time. But I am a bit worried about the wine. What's the deal with their prices? The wine tasting menu is $45/person. That's more expensive than Toque, and Toque is excellent at food wine matching. Is Anise as good or are they just really expensive. I looked at the wine list and the prices seem too high also. There is almost nothing in the $40-50/bottle range. The Bonny Doon Riesling is $45 -- isn't that a bit much?
We always prefer to have blind food and wine menu if it's available. Are they good enough at food wine matching that $45/person is worth it?
Are there any other Montreal restaurants that offer great food/wine menus besides Toque?
