Help with wine!

So I need help with wine. My knowledge of wine is at a beginner level. Can anyone recommend a wine store with a veteran staff who also can pair well? My ultimate is Norbert at the BH Cheese store, but that's a little out of the way for me. Paul Sherman (somm. at Valentino) told me about a place in Glendale that has one of the best wine selections at fair prices...maybe on SF Blvd? I'm basically looking for the ultimate. Huge selection, good prices, and knowledgeable staff. Help me out guys =)

P.S. gimme your recommendation for black cod, truffled risotto and peas. The guy at Vendome recommended a Sancerre which I'm enjoying by itself (might not hold up to the truffle oil), but he seemed like he just picked a random wine.

Maybe there's a website for wine pairing? I think someone should start a service where you punch in the main flavors of the dish you're preparing, the price range for the wine, and it gives you like 10 results...I know I'd pay for that.
