Just got back from the Wigwam resort in Phoenix, really Litchfield park. Here is the report:
First night eat at the clubhouse grill, it was OK, really just a steakhouse in a golf clubhouse. They tried but not really anything outstanding.
Second night went to Bella Luna. Thank you chowhound folks for recommending this place. My wife is AKA italian and she loved it. We always share everything so that we can eat a true three or four course meal. Started with the mediteranian antiposta, roasted red peppers, olives, assorted meats, anchovies (my favorites),eggplant, and best of all imported provolone cheese - great. Then the Penne pasta with Bolanaise sauce. Was as good as we have had in Italy. Then Osso Bucca with saffron risotto, again very good. One thing, do not order the house chianti, cheap but bad.
Third night, went to the California kitchen at the resort. Had a very good southwestern meal. The exhibition kitchen was worth the money without even talking about the food. Overall a great stay.
