The El Segundo farmer's market has a booth that makes the most amazing hot dogs (late Thursday afternoons). I think it is an adaptation on the Sonoran Hot Dog. Where else can these (good ones) be found?
I'm not 100% sure they use pineapple, but there is pineapple there for drinks, and it smells/tastes like there's pineapple on the grill. (Also, I successfully replicated w/splash of pineapple juice at home.)
The hot dogs (or you can get sausages) are split, bacon-wrapped and grilled/fried with onions, jalapenos and I think other peppers, and they put all that in a toasted bun and if you go for the works I believe they add mayo, ketchup and mustard.
They are spectacular.
I'm usually a purist, but this is officially one of the things I preferentially eat now.
