Curious what people had to eat at this parade -
This year I still had not managed to get up enough strength to try souse, and my most anticipated meal - flying fish and coucou from Coucou Village - didn't happen as the restaurant didn't show up this year.
What I did have was:
Vegetable roti "buss up shot" style - the roti was premade and a bit dry, but the innards were fantastic. I later saw another booth making fresh roti and was upset I didn't wait longer...
Phalouri - freshly fried, this was a revelation from the usual prefired, soggy phalourie you get most places. The hot sauce made my lips burn but had such a great flavor I didn't mind.
Cassava pone - From a St. Lucian booth - really tasty, huge portion, and it was only a buck. Tasted alot like a cross between ginger cake and pumpkin pie.
All of these were washed down with Ting and Peardrax, the latter being possibly the best soft drink around.
