Weekend eating in Pasadena

Just wanted to thank whoever recommended Kathleen's in Pasadena a while back. I finally made it this weekend for breakfast, and it was really good. The first place that I feel is a good alternative to Marstons for weekend breakfast. I thought the range on things on the breakfast menu was a little narrow, but I decided on the spinach omlette and it was great. Hash browns and fruit served on the side. I got toast, but get the pumpkin bread! You'll be so much happier.

Also went to Gale's on Fair Oaks for dinner. Neat atmosphere, open kitchen, and a little bit like the loft feel you get at Salandang. AMAZING service. Older gentleman (maybe the owner?) shows us to our table and pulls out the chair for my girlfriend, bread with olive oil and balsamic vingear served immediately, and the waiter was very attentive and very polite. I got chicken with gnocchi (sp?) in a spinach and cream sauce. My first time to try gnocchi. It tasted fine, but I don't think I'll be back for gnocchi. Is this an acquired taste? It just tasted like soft dough. Girlfriend had salmon and lobster stuffed ravioli with a tomato and cream sauce, and that was really good. Was curious about the pizza, but $12-14 for a small seemed expensive, and you have to wait 20 minutes (says so on the menu).
