I'm planning a wedding for 2013 and I am running out of ideas of venues to look at. I'm looking for a traditional Chinese banquet in a non-traditional Chinese space (aka not a Chinese restaurant). Looking at a guest list of approximately 230 people. So far I have looked at:
Carlu (absolutely love it, but a little too pricey)
Design Exchange (love it, but no on-site cooking allowed)
Eglinton Grand (not so sure about this one)
Ontario Science Centre (a little too tight)
Polson Pier (the staff is beyond unhelpful, missed appointments, and don't return phone calls)
I'd ideally like to bring in an outside caterer to get good Chinese banquet food, but I'm willing to entertain in-house catering as long as they can do a good job on this. I'm going to be taking a look at Liberty Grand and Grand Luxe Event Boutique next, but neither allow outside catering so I'm a little concerned.
Has anyone been to either Liberty Grand or Grand Luxe for a Chinese wedding? If so, how was your experience?
And are there any other unique wedding venues that someone can recommend? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
