went last night for the first time. extremely interesting, sometimes great food, although the current menu is sort of hit or miss. would definitely go back, order certain dishes again, skip others and try new ones.
foie gras / sardine appetizer - very good. not a huge fan of cold / terrine style foie gras, but as these go, great interplay of salty sardine and smooth foie gras.
oyster appetizer - not good. great looking, amazing presentation and I appreciate the concept. but IMO raw oysters should not be served at room temp and pressed so their texture is lost. the flavors would work better with the same sauce / garnish, but with fresh intact raw oysters.
squid linguine appetizer - great. love the concept although I have seen it before, great combination of chewy squid, salty pancetta, sweet melon, creamy sauce.
bass - good. great piece of fish, perfectly cooked. but the flavors (almond, cauliflower) a little bland. no acidity whatsoever, overall a faint indian flavor that is mild and a little blah.
beef - very good. delicious pieces of meat, good simple sauces, nice marrow on the side.
parsnip cake dessert - great. delicious crispy outside and softer inside. cream cheese coconut sorbet went extremely well with it. like a refined take off on carrot cake w/ cream cheese icing.
overall, I would recommend it. hit to miss ratio is about 70 / 30% right now, given what I have tried. If you order correctly, you can have a possibly 3* dining experience. and it is fairly priced.
