Watercress/Medjool

I've been to Watercress [23rd and Valencia] on two recent occasions and want to remind folk in the area what a great value this place is. The $19.95 "prix fixe" includes everything on the menu except for two entree choices and the cheese course for desert and I've yet to order or see a "loser" dish. Last night we [3] had a salad,calamari,tiger shrimp, loinchop w/red cabbage cooked with bacon and mashed potatoes, mahimahi and ginger chicken, unusual "cheesecake, profiteroles, and creme brulee. Only the brulee failed to exceed expectations [beautifully presented, but pedestrian in taste]. The bill was $60 +tax and tip. I also tried Medjool this week [21st and Mission]. It is a lovely room and I enjoyed the "Morrocanish" food especially the b'stilla and lamb tangine. Well priced entrees [$9-12] , but high prices for some appetizers [$9 for an unremarkable spinach salad???] I look forward to returning, but one BIG disappointment: Desserts had nothing to do with Morroco/Middle eastern cooking,at least on the night I was there.
