Wallse Review-Medium long

Went to Wallse a few days ago for the first time, and the food was stellar.

Started off with the ravioli stuffed with sugar snap peas, parmesan, in a white asparagus sauce. This was amazing, so fresh, with layered flavors, first the fresh, egg taste of the ravioli, the sweet taste of the sugar snap peas, and the creamy, saltier blend of asparagus sauce and parmesan. I loved this and wanted ten more.

Next I had the steamed halibut with dill, cucumber and wild mushrooms. The sauce (I think) was a puree of the dill and cucumber, while chunks of cucumber floated in the sauce with the mushrooms (I think chanterelles). Everything was very fresh, the fish was tender and expertly prepared, and the cucumber and dill sauce was sweet and refreshing.

We were too full for dessert, however, they did offer complimentary almonds dusted with cocoa powder, which were fine, though not fantastic.

As a side note, the restaurant itself is adorable and elegant, a great atmosphere. I noticed families, groups of friends, couples - and the place seemed the perfect setting for all.

I can't wait to go back and try more, I loved this place.
