So, in trying to identify a place to take visiting relatives from a small town, we are contemplating Vivo for the following reasons that we believe would appeal to them on their trip to the Big City:
-It has an urban vibe (albeit a dated, clichéd vibe);
-It is pretty straightforward cuisine for some un-adventuresome guests;
-It is not too pricey;
-The table suspended above the room in an old elevator shaft seems to have a certain "oooh" factor (Oprah sat there; Michael Jordan ate there).
But, I've haven't been to Vivo in years.
Anyone been more recently and have any thoughts on the overall experience? More specifically, has anyone sat in that special table?
Given the cuisine/cost/atmosphere combination, can anyone offer other options? Believe me, I would love to take them to Blackbird, or to Spoon or Maxwell Street. But, that wouldn't work with this group. Thanks.
