We're spending Thursday and Friday in Sonoma, and will be in SF for Saturday afternoon / evening. The whole purpose of the trip is food / wine, so I'm looking for some suggestions from you experts! In Chicago, we dine out frequently and avoid chain restaurants like the plague. We're looking for excellent food, great service, good wine. We're probably not in the French Laundry price range, but just below that. We're relatively adventurous, and definitely want much more than just steak and potatoes.
For our night in SF, I feel like we *should* get Italian but am definitely open to other options. I hear we should definitely do dim sum too -- are there good lunch spots?
Sonoma -- We're staying at the Marriott. We want at least one top notch seafood dinner, and would love some lunch recommendations as well. Any "must see" wineries?
Hope this gives you enough to go on -- really looking forward to your responses!
