We had a wonderful time on a recent trip to Blue Hill. The food was spectacular, and was matched by attentive and warm service. Can't wait to go back there again.
We opted for menu of the day (of the season?), which included a marvelous wild salmon, a salad of fresh vegetables that I have been missing every day since we were there and poached chicken breast (and a piece of thigh). Who knew that a simple chicken breast could be so flavorful. I don't think I used a knife much, given how melt in your mouth the food was.
I have to remark on the service as well - they were attentive as needed, but also didn't rush us through our conversation or anytime one of us was taking longer than the other to finish a course.
Really a spectacular night (it didn't hurt that the weather was so wonderful), and a restaurant I'd like to return to time and again. I am not necessarily one to consider organic/home grown cuisine the be-all and end-all, but Blue Hill is in a class by itself. I wonder how the upstate location is in comparison, but I can't imagine that it could be much better.
