I hadn't been to Vidalia since they got their new set-up. Went Monday. I think they'll regret that carpet, but that's neither here nor there.
The food was good--I liked my dinner just fine. Nice crispy skin on the hen, nice broth with the snails. Chocolate things were nice, and I was very pleased to find sour cream ice cream. And cheese plates.
However, the two things that stood out in my memory were these:
1) Three cheers for having good snacks on the bar! Good cheese straws, olives, candied pecans. Yum.
2) And the wine list. The wines by the glass were plentiful and interesting, and the by-the-bottle list was really deep and good. I was impressed. Very attentive sommelier, too.
Seems a good place just to go have a drink and test out the bar menu.
