Vesuvio Bakery "Cafe" in NYT - what the...

Say it ain't so...

There's a small piece in todays Times Dining Out section about the re-opening of Soho's venerable Vesuvio Bakery as a "cafe" (?!?) complete with cool-looking exposed brick walls and halogen track lighting (of course the old bakery front remains as a "theme" item, complete with the nostalgic look of those loaves of bread in the window). Well, thank goodness that old ancient Italian bakery is gone! A cute unique cafe serving "egg dishes, frittatas, panini, wraps, and coffee" is what Soho has really been missing!

Think I'll rush on down for a wrap...
