Vert Dinner Box for Hollywood Bowl

Hi all,
Last night my boyfriend and I went to the hollywood bowl to listen to Beethoven and decided after looking into gelsons, brisol farms, other places, to have a picnic box dinner from Vert. It was sooo much food and soo delicious. We each had a 3 course meal. Everything was served cold, so I was a little doubtful about how good it could taste but it was great! You can see the full menu on the website with prices. We started off with the bread that came with this goat cheese that was just amazing. For appetizer I had the asparagus wrapped in proscuitto - for some reason i wasn't too big on this proscuitto but still yummy overall, and then for entree I had 6 large prawns (they were soo big!!) and they were very plump and had great texture. tasted very yummy with the lemon butter sauce - a very subtle flavor that went over well with the artichokes and green beans. My boyfriend had the caprese (buffalo mozzarella and tomatoes with balsamic vinagrette - the vinagrette was sooo good!) the mozzarella wasn't the best i've had but it was definitely yummy. For his entree he had the filet and lobster and that was delicious as well, but dipping the lobster into my lemon butter sauce made it that much better. =) the filet, even though cold, was deliciously medium rare and tender. For desserts we had strawberry shortcake and peach and blueberry cobbler with the yummy whipped cream.

We pretty much didn't finish anything. Tried some of everything and it was all so delicious. Definitely the best picnic and most expensive take out I've ever had but it was worth it! =)

Just wanted to share in case others were thinking of options. =)

Oh and it was also really convenient to take the shuttle to and from there, $3 a person and really fast to get out of there.

OK thats all =) back to work :P
