I'm trying to pick a fine dining option for my birthday next week and we've hit pretty much all the good options in Orlando - twice! :)
In the last two Foodie Awards in the Orlando Sentinel as well as on CitySearch, I have noticed the Venetian Room at the Carib Royale resort near Disney winning alot of reader awards for special occasion dining. Has anyone actually eaten there? No one I have met has, and I slightly suspect that it's performance in the reader awards may have been due to some ballot-box hanky-panky.
Also, has anyone dined at La Coquina since they started serving dinner again literally IN their kitchen? Scott Joseph of the Sentinel gave it a good review, but again, no first person responses for me to check it against. Also, does anyone know if La Coquina has re-opened after their annual summer closing yet?
And if someone will humor me with 2 final requests for reviews: Dux with their latest chef and Journey's in Longwood.
Appreciate your time
