Cafe Indigo, which started out as a vegan bakery, and started offering lunch, now has Sunday brunch! It's amazing. You get to eat from the buffet table of salads, hummus, desserts, muffins, etc, and you choose a cooked to order entree from the menu, plus organic tea and coffee included. We aren't even vegetarian, much less vegan, but I already loved this place for lunch and found out recently that they added Sunday brunch.
It's just a special place, with all scratch homemade food, and it's prepared with love. Some places you can just tell. Atmosphere is friendly and not fancy.
I had the corn pancakes, and I am crazy about them. Regular size and density pancakes, but you could taste the finely ground cornmeal which made it so yummy. Real maple syrup of course. Came with side pan roasted potatoes which were fabulous - not too mushy and so flavorful. Spouse had the "huevos" rancheros which was also good (meat substitute scramble with the sauce and came with great black beans and potatoes, avocado and sour cream garnish sides.
They have the most amazing carrot cake, and frosted lemon poppyseed muffins.
It's not a huge place so getting there soon after they open is a good idea if you don't like to wait at all. It's 10am-2pm. There are several 2 seat tables and four larger tables, so we offered to let another couple sit at our large table with us so they didn't have to wait, which was fun.
Even if you are not vegetarian, you will not miss breakfast meat at this place, the food is just so darn good. There is no judgement at this place either. I opted to not wear leather purse or coat out of respect, but no one looked funny at my LLBean boots with leather tops! ;)
Note the website just announced closed for Sun brunch Feb 22nd this weekend so don't go by mistake.
