Valention dinner

Been here a few years back, now back again for the new chef and menu.

only tasting menus and prixe fixe available.

tried the prixe fixe. ordered the duck crespella, which was sort of like a manicotta or lasagna, without the bechamel and ricotta, but just having thin pasta layers and stuffed with ground duck breast. good though not great. tomatoe sauce on this was pretty good.

also, had the steak with red wine must for the entree. pretty darn good although the sauce was a little on the sweet side. and what's with serving the entree's with mashed potatoes and boiled veggies (such as a carrot, green bean, squash etc. medley). This seems straight out of an American comfort food menu or thanksgiving dinner.

my friend had the lobster raviolis, which were good not great. and pensylvania quails in black truffle sauce which he deemed great, but i don't care for quails.

too full to adequately savor dessert, but ordered up cannolis, ok, nothing to write home about. and what's with the dessert menu, seems very boring/not so tasty for such a well lauded restaurant.

worth another trip but definitely not for dessert
