I just have to vent about the whole "Special Valentine's Day Menu" schtick that so many restaurants feel compelled to "offer" to us.
Is it just me, or is this just an excuse to rip us all off on the night that we're all compelled to take our loved one out on?
An example is my dinner at Le Quinze last night. The food was indeed very good, as was the service...but I couldn't get past the fact that I was paying a vastly inflated price ($45 pp) for a drastically limited menu.
The place wasn't even full, so I can't think of any excuse as to why they wouldn't just have the regular menu available...other than to get more money out of us because they knew they could.
