Valentines day dinner at Ariadne

Just wanted to report to the Hounds - had a great Valentines Dinner at Ariadne.

Details for my dinner:

Champagne and an oyster to start (delcious)

Choice from one of six excellent First Courses -
Mine choice - Foie Gras Terrine - delightful - nice toast points - needed more toast because they gave me so much Foi Gras (nice problem to have)

Choice of 5 Dinners:
Mine was Grilled Veal Chop - simply the best I think I have ever had (14oz - was a $5 surcharge) - came with assorted Root veggies - would order it again in a flash
My Fiance had the Sirloin Steak - 12oz - was also wonderful - a combination Gruyere cheese/potatoe gratin was with hers

Dessert -
I had the Meyer Lemon Cheesecake - outstanding
she had the Chocolate Torte - with Caramel Ice Cream (was to die for -- more like a Fondant in my opinion)

This was simply one of the best dinners I have eaten in Boston - period -- and rivals the best of Paris as well. Total cost for two with tip and a bottle of wine (not over priced and nice selection on the wine list by the way) was 230.00 (but this was due to the Valentines day special Prix-Fixe dinner (no off the menu orders). My best guess tells me the cost might be about %40-%50 less on a normal night? I have never been there before -- so this was one lucky first-time-try-out that went way in our favor. I loved this place - nice comfortable room - not overly noisy in the dining room - nice tables - banquets - etc. We were near other couples and never heard them. Try this place - you will love it.
