Valentina (SF)

A few Hounds went to Valentina last night, an intimate Italian restaurant in Bernal Heights (SF). I’ll just write what we had and let the others chime in with their opinions before I throw in my two cents.

Carpaccio: thinly sliced raw beef with capers, arugola, lemon, olive oil and shaved parmesan cheese 9.00

Carciofini Ripieni: warmed artichoke hearts stuffed with goat cheese, wrapped in prosciutto di parma and topped with a light pesto sauce 9.00

Sopressata Di Polpo: thinly sliced octopus drizzled with extra virgin olive oil, lemon juice and capers served with arugola salad 9.50

Polenta Pasticciata: polenta with sausages, beef ragu', fontina cheese and sour kraut 14.00 neglected to list Valentina’s primi so the rest is:
Spaghetti al granchio (crab in a tomato sauce)

Trenette al pesto (with new potatoes and green beans)

Gnocchi al gorgonzola

The wines:
Barbera d'Asti Camp du Rouss and an Aglianico (forgot the winery)

Lemon sorbet served in the lemon.
Was there something else?

OK, have at it!

Dinner: 6–10:30 p.m.
Brunch: Sat.–Sun., 10:30 a.m.–3 p.m.
