Universal City Hilton Prime Rib/Seafood Buffet (short report)

prc49 | Oct 24, 2005 06:12 PM

I visited the Universal City Hilton Prime Rib & Seafood dinner buffet this past weekend. The price was $38.95 which includes sodas, coffee or tea. Price also includes validated self parking. I considered going to the San Gabriel Hilton buffet ($39.99) but I called them and they said Shark Fin soup was not part of the buffet but could be ordered separately.

I thought the selection of food was very good. Of course they had prime rib, lobster thermidor, (4) different types of crab including King Crab, oysters, mussels and peel & eat shrimp. There were (3) types of sashimi...tuna, salmon & halibut. You could also order hand rolls at the sushi bar. There was a large variety of Chinese food too including (3) types of dim sum (har gow, siu mai, seafood dumplings), salt/pepper shrimp/squid, fried rice, Peking duck, ginger crab, and the Shark Fin soup. I also enjoyed other types of food like the kal-bi and seafood paella and shrimp/scallop pasta from the pasta bar.

I suggest getting to this buffet early so you can choose where you want to be seated. There are some tables which were very close together. Also, there was live music (piano). The guy sang Happy Birthday about 5 times when I was there. Let me know if you have any specific questions.
