Union Bar and Grille opening night

We just so happened to check out Union Bar and Grille on its opening night last night. Overall the experience was great. Atmosphere, service and normal noise level all receive high marks. We were seated right away without a reservation at a decent table. The room was beautifully done, even the silverware was notable (if you are into details).

Regarding the food, I was really impressed by the lovely cornbread that was served hot in an adorable mini-cast iron pan. We had the calamari to start--very tasty. Our main courses were both good also ---only complaints were that my medium rare steak was a little on the rare side whereas my companion's pork was slightly overdone to his taste. Prices ranged from low 20s to low 30s. And I believe there were two sandwich options for under 15. Desserts looked delicious but we declined. All staff members were super friendly, casting an enthuiastic and classy vibe to the place. It was also so nice to enjoy a meal and not have to yell over the music or other people! We will definitely be back soon.
