Went tonight and was just not all that thrilled. Service at the bar was great. Cornbread threw me. Just didn't mesh with our dishes, would have prefered another choice or at least a jalapeno cornbread - thought presentation was nice though.
Apps--- 6 lovely oysters,
Gnocchi with clams and bacon......really flavorful, but slightly salty, and I LOVE salt. Perfectly pillowy, and flavourful.
Entrees----- I went for the special Hamachi, which was oversalted and overcooked for such a lovely fish. Just a poorly executed meal. Liked the shaved fingerling potatos and wild mushrooms, but really the salt .....
Also had the tenderloin with potato jacket. Nicely done, nice reduction, although nothing spectacular. Just found it strange to throw a twice baked potato and steak alone on the plate. It would have been much nicer to add a few of those asparagus, or other vegetable. Just semed odd to me.
Anyway, the place was not hopping on an early Sat Night. Perhaps it like others are experiencing the winter doldrums. No rush to go back, which dissapoints me. I had high hopes.
