No, not a joke. I am having a serious fruitcake craving. I don't know that I have eaten fruitcake for years, but I am remembering something sent to my parents by some business acquaintance that came in a 12" tin with a Currier and Ives image on the front.
Now, I am not looking for that specific fruitcake, but in case anyone is familiar with said cake, well, then you would know the style of fruitcake I am craving right now: lots of fruits and nuts, held together with a touch of almost transluscent cake, and lots of bourbon.
Can anyone suggest a local source (I am guessing that the fruitcake at Safeway, looking roughly like a loaf of cocktail rye, is not going to do it for me) for a superlative fruitcake? Any ideas?
