Ultimate Restaurants results

Here are the results of the Ultimate Los Angeles Restaurants survey. The votes were tabulated unscientifically, but reasonably. Where posters followed the instructions & ranked only 5 restaurants, the restaurants were given 5 – 1 points (5 for top ranked, etc.) Where posters listed only 5 restaurants in no particular order, each choice was given 2 points. Where posters listed more than 5 restaurants, each choice was given 1 point. Listings of more than 10 restaurants were not included in the survey. Restaurants with the same number of points are listed by number of votes, then alphabetically.

No real surprises in the top 5, tho the gap between Josie & Spago & the rest of the field is pretty dramatic. Tito’s at #7 between Valentino & Melisse (!) is a tribute to loyalty (& perhaps a reflection of recent board debate). The lack of steakhouses – no Mastro’s, Nik & Stef’s, Windows, Taylor’s (speaking of loyalty), Mortons, Ruth’s Chris to be seen – is surprising.
