I tried doing a search, but nothing terrifically useful turned up.
A friend and I are going to visit Manhattan in late April. We are staying at the Franklin hotel on 79th and Lexington (I think it's around there, anyway). We get in from the airport on a Thursday evening, and we'd like to go to dinner some place within walking distance of the hotel, so that we get a chance to walk around the neighborhood a bit. We're pretty fit people, so you can be generous with your definition of "walking distance."
We're fans of all types of cuisine, but would prefer no Chinese or Thai. Price around $30/person. I'd like something casual, not too fancy, some possibility of people-watching and atmosphere-soaking (like Etta's, if there are Seattle people here, or like Montage in Portland).
We'll be in NY for 4 days, so advice for any other places to try while we're there will be much appreciated!
Thanks for any help.
