I was walking by the soon to open Turkuaz at 100th and Broadway with my son yesterday. We looked in the window, and a woman working there invited us in to look around. It is opening this Friday June 16, and they have done nice things with the space. Very light, airy and big -- much nicer that I remember from the many dreadful places that preceded it in that location.
I off course can't vouch for the food, but the people were extremely nice. As people peeked in the windows they would come out to chat or invite them in. My son was very impressed that he got a tour, and is already planning a meal there to eat chicken kebab, which he could eat every day of his life. They didn't have a menu printed yet, but I did find out that they would have stuff baked on turkish bread, and monti (turkish dumplings, my favorite and that of the owner too, apparently) as an occasional special but not on the regular menu.
It should be worth checking out, and the neighborhood can really use it.
