In addition to live whole Alaskan King Crab, T&T is also offering cut-up 'fresh?' un-cooked portions at $20.99 a lb. Bought two gigantic legs yesterday from the Middlesfield store for $35. Steamed them, per the Hokkaido way, by sprinkling some good sea salt over them and for about 18 minutes. The result?!! What a mega-disappointment!! The meat texture was mushy and even tasted a little bit sour!. Definitely NOT FRESH, out of the water for too long or cut from a dead crab!
The worse thing is that I get to compare them with the amazingly tasty steamed live whole ones I had in Anchorage a few years back! Difference is absolutely night and day!
Definitely Buyers Beware!! Even with the whole ones, make sure they are alive and kicking!! Just because they are in a fish tank doesn't mean they are alive! For the price they are charging, they should be reported to the Better Businees Bureau!!
