We just got back from another wonderful dinner for fungus lovers at Trattoria Jackson Fillmore.
There were three of us. We had grilled potabello mushrooms and a very good rustic vegetable rissotto for appetizers. For entrees we had spaghetti wiyh black truffles and portabellos (magnifico!), rissotto with black truffles and tomatoes, and grilled rabbit. They do not stint on the truffles, and I was in truffle heaven.
For dessert we had the Zabaliogne Classico, with the zabaliogne spilling luxuriously over the sides and filling the saucer. It was just terriffic.
I brought a bottle of '92 Preston syrah from my wine cellar that went perfectly with the meal. The corkage was $15.
The bill came to $101 which included 3 capuccinos and a plate of assorted biscotti.
TJF takes reservations for three or more. We were seated immediately for our 7:00 reservations.
