Hi i am returning from a trip to boston and wanted to comment on a few places that i "dined." I ate at very low key cheap places because i was visiting people on a budget. the globe which was near newberry street was just a random bar/sandwich place but i had the BEST sandwich EVER. the italian i think. also, everyone love their food and it made for a great lunch break from shopping. i also really liked that there were a ton of booths!
i also grabbed coffee and sandwiches at city feed and supply in JP and was REALLY impressed with both. the latte was really really good and the sandwiches were fresh and yummy. the store itself was cute to explore and sit for a bit while i waited for my tardy companion. i'm not much of a hipster or indie (which i think the crowd may lean towards) but i felt quite at home and wish there was a place like that in my neighborhood in dc.
had dinner at border cafe in cambridge and loved it. very fun place (albeit crowded) and my salmon was cooked perfectly. also my friend had an eggplant dish and it was DELICIOUS. melt in your mouth buttery eggplant in some rich sauce... so good.
ate at miracle of science. liked it overall (salad was good). very reasonably priced and the wait staff was wonderful. there is no wine list (just a red and white option) and i'm not a fan of wine being served in a beeker but again, it was good reasonably priced food.
happy new year!
