I'm considering staying at 60 Thompson this Summer for an extended trip in, mostly for the more laid back area versus my usual uptown hotel.
But a plus to it will also be the food which is available in the area.
Apart from Chinatown, what is good and close by?
I prefer neighborhood places and I'm particularly looking for breakfast and brunch, maybe a bar or two (I'm almost 40 - female and don't want hip, but rather quiet and relaxing, but don't mind people watching), late night coffee shops a must - yummy eats there a plus, some dinner restaurants too, but one dinner must be one of NY's best and does not have to fit the 'neighbor place' category.
I'm not into sushi..
Trying to put the location in my mind, I am familiar with Pepolino and enjoy it..... But can't think of any others at the moment.
Your help is appreciated.
Btw, if anyone thinks 60 Thompson is a bad idea, please do tell.
