We ventured in for the first time today. They had printed menus (these were dated last week, but I'm guessing the menu changes every now and then.)
You order at the counter and there are maybe 4-5 small tables inside and 3-4 outside.
I love breakfast, but their breakfast items seemed limited. There was a breakfast strata that looked hearty and good, but I was more in the mood for sweet. That left a baked apple with granola or french toast. The menu described french toast either "creme brulee" style, or with orange and cardamom. When I tried to order, I was told that today they only had orange with ricotta. Also good!
We were warned it may take about 20 minutes, I find I don't mind waiting if I'm told up front that I'll have to do so. Fortunately, the french toast was done in about 10 minutes.
What a french toast it was!! two thick slices of...I'm not sure...maybe a pain de mie style white bread. It was soaked all the way through with the egg mixture and then between the slices, ricotta cheese and some orange zest. A generous pour of home made berry compote over half. It was so good...very delicate and custardy, which I like. Probably plenty for 2 people, at a cost of $7.25. Husband had an orange-cranberry muffin, but it looked kind of dry.
I sampled a lemon cookie while in line and it was very good.
all in all, the menu didn't interest me all that much..standard sandwiches and salads, but that french toast will have me back soon enough.
