Mangosteen's noodles made me happy and full last night, but the leftovers I just ate today sparked a serious craving for more noodles made in the same style.
For those who haven't been to Mangosteen, their version consists of soft long noodles roughly the shape of spaghetti but much more tender, generous slices of flank steak, plenty of basil, and diced onion. The garlic wasn't visible, but garlic flavor was infused in the whole dish and was very prominent in the dish's fragrance. The menu said lemongrass was used, but I didn't see it or taste too much of it.
Where else in SF should I go to try this dish? Mangosteen's was $8 with beef, $7 with chicken, and $9 for filet mignon cubes. Wonderful.
