If there is anyplace in the world that's going to cause you to reconsider this much neglected antojito, its Tostadas Coyacan. Their tostadas are the perfect fuel for powering you through the nearby Frida Kahlo Museum and even on to Xochimilico and be prepared: the layout is beyond impressive.

Ever the vigilant food traveler [got to manage stomach space!] - I only ordered perhaps the most famous central Mexican Tostada - the tostada de tinga de pollo and also received a taste of my favorite tostada - de pata.
The moist shredded chicken was in a spiced sauce with a chipotle-fresh tomato base contrasted by cool crema and crisp tostada. The chilled pickled beef foot was oregano dusted and refreshing and restorative for such a warm day.
Tostadas Coyacan is a unique place that admirably showcases one of Mexico's culinary gifts to the world. I cant wait to get back and try more...
