Illinois Mycological Association
Our October 4th meeting at the North Park Village Nature Center will feature a popular special guest speaker Tom Volk, known to many as an exceptionally entertaining speaker, will give a talk on "Magical Mushrooms, Mischievous Molds: the Impact of Fungi on Humans and History." We will also have forays with Tom Volk on Saturday and Sunday. Non-IMA members are welcome to attend the meeting for $5. -- New memberships will extend to December, 2003.
Prior to his talk, we will have an extended open skillet from 7 to 7:30. Rather than passing around sautéed mushrooms and toothpicks. We will have cheese pizza and cooked wild mushrooms for members to add as they wish. This will not be dinner portions of pizza but rather snack portions. So come to taste rather than dine!
Following Saturday's foray we will have a barbecue in the park. IMA will provide the hamburgers, hot dogs and soft drinks --- just bring a side dish, chips or dessert. Please contact Catherine Lambrecht at 847/432-8255 or firstname.lastname@example.org to advise how many and what you will bring to avoid duplication.
Note this month's meeting will be held on Friday October 4th --- no meeting on October 7th!
